Kavango Resources (LSE:KAV) is a mineral exploration company focused on Botswana. Backed by an experienced team of geologists and geophysicists, the business is centred around three projects prospective for copper, nickel, and platinum group element metals. It bases its exploration model around the search for magmatic massive sulphide orebodies buried beneath up to 200m of overburden.
Two of Kavango’s assets – the Kalahari Suture Zone project and the Ditau project – cover nearly 7,000km2 in the southwest of Botswana. Here, they boast target deposits associated with a 450km-long structure feature thought to extend deep into the earth’s crust. Critically, Kavango believes that the area covered by these licences displays distinct geological similarities to that hosting the world-class Norilsk orebodies in Siberia.
Finally, Kavango believes that its third project in the north of Botswana is prospective for mineralisation associated with the extension of the DRC-Zambia Copperbelt.
